IOWA FALLS - Craig Edward Sathoff, 59, of Iowa Falls, died Sunday, March 28, 1999, as a result of an automobile accident near Colo.  Services were held Thursday, April 1, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls with burial in Union Cemetery, Rev. Brian King officiated.

Craig was born on July 30, 1939, in Mason City to Edward and Doris Amundson Sathoff.  He graduated from Titonka High School, Waldorf Junior College, Wartburg College with a bachelor of arts degree in Education; and from University of Northern Iowa with a masters degree in English.  On May 14, 1960 he married Mary Lynn Dadisman.  He began a 36-yer teaching career in Iowa Falls.  Following his retirement from teaching ninth grade English, he had recently began teaching composition classes at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls.  He was a member of Iowa Falls Bethany Lutheran Church, Toastmasters and was a speech coach.

He is survived by his wife Mary, three sons, Ed Sathoff of Mankato, MN, Art Sathoff of Richland, and Robin Sathoff of Iowa falls, a daughter, Laura Diemer of Cedar Falls, seven grandchildren and a brother, Maurice Sathoff of Monroe, WI.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mary L. Sathoff, age 65 of Iowa Falls, died on Friday, December 21, 2007 at the Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Iowa falls. Private inurnment will be in the Union Cemetery. There is no visitation.


Mary Lynn Sathoff was born January 22, 1942 at Nevada, Iowa the daughter of Glen and Mildred (Handsacker) Dadisman. She received her early education at country schools in Manly and graduated from Manly High School. Following her graduation she then attended Wartburg College. She was united in marriage to Craig Sathoff May 13, 1960 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Mary was a homemaker and antique dealer. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church where she served on the Church Board.

 She was also a member of American Heart Association and Children International. Survivors include her children Ed Sathoff and his wife Allison of Mankato, MN., Laura Diemer of Cedar Falls, IA., Art Sathoff and his wife Cindy of Packwood, IA., Robin Sathoff of Daytona Beach, FL. and William Sathoff of St. Petersburg, FL.; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Sally Bale of Grimes, IA. and Glenda Hefty of Renwick, IA.; two brothers, Jerry Dadisman of Manly, IA. and Donald Dadisman of Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and brother in infancy and her husband, Craig.
