Audria M. Hamilton, age 77 of Iowa Falls, Iowa died Sunday, February 18, 2007 at her home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa Falls with burial in Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls.


Memorials may be directed to the University of Iowa College of Nursing or Wendy Hamilton Stroke Research Fund.
Audria M. Hamilton was born September 12, 1929 at Ticonic, Iowa the daughter of Christy and Mary (Carroll) McClatchey. She received her education at Mapleton and graduated from Mapleton High School with the class of 1947 and graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Nursing in 1950. She married William Hamilton on October 6, 1951 at Iowa City, Iowa. Audria had worked at University Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa Falls Schools as school nurse and Ellsworth Municipal Hospital before retiring in 1980.She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Iowa Falls where she chaired the pastor-parish relations committee, chaired the annual pork dinner and was active in the church circle, PEO, Isabella, University of Iowa Alumni Association, Presidents Club of the University of Iowa Foundation and the Golden Flos. In her free time Audria loved to play bridge and belonged to several Bridge Clubs some of over 50 years. She was a computer whiz who enjoyed designing art work, making cards and books for family and friends. Audria's favorite past times included spending time at Clear Lake and visiting with their many dinner group friends.


Survivors include her husband Bill, of Iowa Falls, son, Stephen Wayne Hamilton of Fairfax Station, VA.; daughter, Stephanie Kay Hamilton and her husband John Alderman of Iowa City, IA.; four grandchildren, Kristen Hamilton of Hoboken, NJ., Neil Hamilton and Mackenzie Hamilton of Fairfax Station VA., and Mary Nell Alderman of Iowa City, IA.; sister, Mary Ann Christensen and her husband Martin of De Kalb, IL.; three brothers, Robert McClatchey and his wife Mary Gay of Knoxville, IA., Rev. Russell McClatchey and his wife Ramona of Hedgesville, West Virginia, Richard McClatchey and his wife Lois of Lacey, Washington, and brother-in-law, Jim Wodtke of Anthon, Iowa.
 

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, June Wodtke, granddaughter Rachel Lou Alderman, and daughter-in-law, Wendy K. Hamilton.
