Howard Flower

Services for Howard W. Flower, 76, of Iowa Falls will be held Tuesday at t p. m. at the Bethany -Lutheran .Church with the Rev Mark Johns Officiating.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown with Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls Handling arrangements.  There will be no public visitation.

Mr. Flower, the son of Herbert and Emma Sannderson Flower, was born at Marshalltown Jan. 25, 1906.  He graduated from the Marshalltown High School, received' his Bachelor of Arts degree from Iowa State Teachers College, at Cedar Falls and his Masters degree from the University of Iowa. He was a teacher and coach in the Iowa Falls schools for 43 years, and also was coach at Ellsworth Junior College. He was inducted into .the Iowa High School Coaches Hall of Fame in 1977.

On Dec. 27, 1933, Mr. Flower and lna Paulson were united in marriage at. St., Joseph, Mo.  They have made their home in Iowa Falls for 52-years. The couple were the parents of a son, Jon of Bettendorf and a daughter, Jean Deasy of Cedar Rapids. Mr. Flower served with the United States Navy during World War II, was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and the Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, son, daughter, five grandchildren, two brothers, Lester Flower of Des Moines and Russell Flower of Dixon, Illinois, and two sisters, Clare Stedman of Syracuse, N.Y., and Mildred Seiler of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and four sisters.
