| Iowa Falls: Funeral services for Jerry E.
Coe, 45, were held this morning from First United Methodist
Church with Rev. Duane R. Voas of Iowa Falls and the Rev.
LaVerne Kiel of Hancock officiating. Surls and Grupe
funeral homes were in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Coe, principal at Iowa Falls High School, died early Monday at his home of cancer. Jerry Elmer Coe was born at Hancock, August 8, 1927, the son of Elmer and Ruby Humbert Coe. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and was married to Lila Hubbard at Nevada, December 31, 1946. Mr. Coe graduated from Simpson College, had a Master's Degree from Drake University and had done additional graduate work at Iowa State University. He had lived at Cylinder, Bradgate, Monroe and Rockford before joining the Iowa Falls School System as high school principal in 1964. He was a member of the Iowa Falls Lions Club and various professional organizations. In addition to his wife, he is survived be a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Joyce) Cofer of Tulsa, OK, and a son, Larry Dean, a student at the University of Iowa. Mr. Coe was preceded in death by his parents. |
